CHEYENNE  – The Wyoming State Board of Education (SBE) will hold its regularly-scheduled meeting at 8:30 a.m. on April 21, 2022.

The board will be considering action on the proposed changes to Chapter 10 Wyoming Content and Performance Standards. Changes to the rules involve identification of Math and Science performance standards..

The board will also take action on district applications for alternative school schedules. Schools with less than 175 student days in the calendar must apply and obtain approval from the board for operating on an alternative schedule. All schools, regardless of number of student days, must meet the state required instructional hours.

Britney Montgomery, Wyoming’s Teacher of the Year, and Aaron Kruger, one of two 2021 Milken Award winners, will be recognized by the board. In addition, staff and students from Park County School District #16 will share details about the work based learning program offered at Meeteetse Schools.

The board will receive several updates on current work of the state board. The standards committee assigned the task of reviewing the current process from revising the state content and performance standards will submit the committee’s preliminary recommendations. The board will also receive updates on the Profile of a Graduate Phase II and a legislative update.

The meeting will be hybrid, in-person with a virtual option. The in-person location will be public meeting room #5 in the Capitol Extension of the Wyoming State Capitol. The public can attend virtually by registering in advance here. After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
