CHEYENNE  – The Wyoming State Board of Education (SBE) will hold a regular meeting on September 20-21, 2018 at the Lincoln County School District #2 Building in Afton.

The meeting begins at 8 a.m. on Thursday, September 20 with a presentation from Sublette County School District #1 Superintendent Jay Harnack on Sublette #1’s teacher accountability system. The SBE will then hear reports from state board coordinator Dr. Thomas Sachse on a legislative update, Accountability, Professional Judgement Panel Planning, Basket of Goods, Chapter 3 Rules on Contested Case Hearings, Chapter 21 Rules on Alternative Calendars, and Chapter 22 Rules on the School Day. Wyoming Department of Education staff will give an update on Accreditation and the National Association of State Boards of Education annual conference. There will also be retreat discussion on how to engage the public and other important constituency groups.

At 8 a.m. on Friday, September 21, the SBE will reconvene and continue retreat discussions regarding a variety of equity priorities with a facilitator.
