CHEYENNE – The Wyoming State Board of Education (SBE) will consider approval of revised Chapter 21 Rules on School Schedules specifically dealing with minimum required instructional hours at its regularly-scheduled meeting starting at 8:30 a.m. on November 19, 2021.
The board will first convene as the Wyoming State Board of Career and Technical Education (SBCTE) for its quarterly report on CTE activities across the state and hear presentations by Guernsey Sunrise and Worland high schools.
The SBE will then hear from Alexis Barney, Wyoming’s 2021 Teacher of the Year. Action items before the board include a request from Arapahoe Charter School to continue operations as a 9-12 school, as well as considering opening Chapter 47 School Accountability and Chapter 10 Student Content and Performance Standards for rule promulgation. If approved, public comment will open on proposed revisions to Math, Science, Physical Education, Health and Fine/Performing Arts standards.
The meeting will be held at the University of Wyoming – Casper Campus, 125 College Drive #163, Room UU322 in Casper. The public can attend virtually. Register in advance for the meeting here.
