CHEYENNE – The Wyoming State Board of Career and Technical Education (SBCTE) and Wyoming State Board of Education (SBE) will meet virtually on December 21, 2023.
The board will initially convene at 10 a.m. as the SBCTE. Having received recommended revisions to the Wyoming Perkins V State Plan from the Superintendent of Public Instruction’s CTE Subcabinet at its November meeting, the SBCTE will take action to release the proposed plan for 30 days of formal public comment.
Following adjournment of the SBCTE meeting, the board will reconvene as the SBE to take action on opening rule promulgation for Chapter 10 Rules on Standards and Chapter 1 Rules on Certificates of Completion. Upon approval, rules will be open for 45 days of formal public comment. Revisions to Chapter 10 Standards include changes to Content and Performance Standards in mathematics, science, computer science, physical education, health and safety, and fine and performing arts. Rule promulgation for Chapter 1 Certificates of Completion involve establishing new rules allowing students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) to receive a certificate of completion, acknowledging success in meeting their K-12 program of study.
