CHEYENNE – The Wyoming State Board of Education (SBE) will discuss the Statewide System of Support (SSoS) and options for convening a professional judgement panel at its regularly-scheduled meeting starting at 9 a.m. on January 20, 2022. The board will also hold a work session on evaluating the current process used for reviewing and revising state standards.

The board will continue the discussion from its November meeting on the Statewide System of Support. The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) will propose the use of a SSoS Logic Model, which is designed to provide progressive support for schools in need of improvement. The board will also receive information on the inclusion of the new state science standards on the spring 2022 administration of the state assessment. The results of the science portion of the state assessment will be part of the achievement indicator for school accountability.

The remainder of the board meeting will be a work session to develop a plan for the evaluation of the process currently in use for reviewing and revising state standards.  The SBE will accept public comment regarding the state standards review process at the opening and closing of the January 20 meeting.
