CHEYENNE  – The Wyoming State Board of Education (SBE) will hold a full-day meeting in Casper beginning at 9 a.m. on March 21, 2019 at the Natrona County School District Activity Center, 2371 Hickory Street. The SBE will first convene as the State Board of Vocational Education (SBVE) to hear an update from the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) on the State Perkins V Transition Plan.

After adjourning the SBVE, the SBE will convene and hear a presentation from 2018-19 Wyoming Teacher of the Year, Valerie Bruce. The board will hear reports from board coordinator Dr. Thomas Sachse on the legislative session and an update on the “Basket of Goods” survey. The WDE will present Alternative Schedules to the SBE, as well as give an update on the committee for the Certified Personnel Evaluation System before taking action.

The WDE collected public input on the proposed Computer Science Standards through an online survey and regional meetings. A summary of the public input that was collected will be presented to the SBE. The SBE will take public comment on Computer Science Standards and limit each speaker to three minutes. Written testimony will also be accepted.

The SBE will take action on Administrative Procedures (part one), Alternative Schedules, an early learning resolution, Certified Personnel Evaluation Systems, and Computer Science Standards.
