CHEYENNE – The Wyoming State Board of Education will hold meetings on September 22-23, 2016 starting at 8:00 a.m. at Eatons’ Ranch located at 270 Eatons’ Ranch Road, Wolf, Wyoming.
The board will discuss alignment of rules and regulations, and the implications of rules surrounding accreditation, standards and the District Assessment System. Additionally, the board will consider 2017 goals, legislative interests and education priorities. The board will also hear an update on the Statewide System of Support.
State Superintendent Jillian Balow will lead a discussion around the role of state boards of education in the federal Every Student Succeeds Act.
The morning of September 23 the Wyoming Department of Education will present public input about science standards from the previous public comment period. The board will then take action on science standards, recommendations from the specialty assessment task forces, the proposed October 15 report to the legislature and the board’s own policies for section 11, 12, 19 and 22.
