SBE TO MEET ON SCHOOL ACCREDITATION AND ACCOUNTABILITY
CHEYENNE - The Wyoming State Board of Education (SBE) will convene virtually at 9 a.m. on May 28 to consider recommendations regarding school accreditation, accountability models, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) standards.
The Wyoming Department of Education will present accreditation recommendations for all 48 school districts based on an annual review of 24 criteria. The board will also discuss proposed modifications to the Wyoming Accountability in Education model. Updates include integrating the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery and Certificates of Completion—which recognize high school completion for students with significant cognitive disabilities—into the state’s post-secondary readiness framework.
The SBE will also review findings from the CTE standards review committee. If approved, the revised standards will move to informal public comment.
All SBE meetings are open to the public, and interested parties can join the virtual session by registering in advance. Registered participants will receive joining instructions via email.
